| The African penguin, sometimes known as the Jackass penguin for the loud braying call it makes, lives in southern African waters. These penguins live in a colony on the beach in Simons Town, southeast of Cape Town. They nest in every nook and cranny and hollow they can find on a section of beach there. I was walking on a pathway through some shrubs when I saw movement and realized I was seeing a nesting wild penguin sitting on an egg. I realized there were many of them in all directions around me. |
