| Cape Town is on the west coast of South Africa, on the Atlantic Ocean. Cape Town, Table Mountain and surrounding area is a popular destination for international tourists visiting South Africa. One iconic scene is that of the V & A waterfront with Table mountain as a backdrop, and that scene is included in this collection under many different lighting conditions. At Table Mountain I decided to go for the "hiking experience". The main trail starts about 2 km past the tram station. The trail is a path of stone steps that winds all the way to the top. It is very steep with some sheer drops. It reminded me of Lord of the Rings, and could make one mindful that Tolkein was from South Africa. After a while of taking in the view, and lots of photos, I took the tram down and went to the coast to Camp Bay to enjoy the Atlantic surf and tide pools while viewing the back side of the mountain I had been on top of shortly before then. |
